Yevgeniy Timoshenko

Yevgeniy Timoshenko is a professional poker player from the European country of Ukraine from where he migrated to and took up citizenship in the United States of America. He was born in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, which was then a part of Ukraine that was incorporated into the United Soviet Socialist Republic or the USSR. But his family left their home when he was only 8 years due to all the war time problems that were plaguing the country and relocated to Washington in the United States of America. It was in Washington that he gained his first experience of learning to play poker when he learned by seeing all his friends play and after a while; he became so good that he was beating his friends in poker quite easily. It was then that Yevgeniy Timoshenko started to play poker online to gain valuable experience of playing with the big boys of the poker world and sharpened his play a lot.

He first won the season 7 World Poker Tour championships, the first time that he entered the tournament in April of 2009 and earned huge cash pot of almost $ 2,150,000. He had also won the Asian Poker Tour by that time, a victory that he achieved in 2008 when he captured the title of the event that was held in Macau and won a cash pot of almost HK$ 3.5 million which is about $ 500,000. Later in the same year, he won his first cash pot in the World Series of Poker when he finished the tournament in 3rd place in London.
